Gourmet Filet (filet gratin wrapped in bacon)

Sliced fillet is lightly seared, wrapped in bacon, and baked in a creamy ketchup-paprika sauce. The dish is finished in a gratin dish in the oven.

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C.
  2. Slice the fillet meat into about 1 cm thick slices and season with meat seasoning.
  3. Lightly pan-fry the bacon slices, then lay them out on a cutting board.
  4. Lightly pan-sear the fillet slices.
  5. Wrap each fillet slice in a bacon slice and secure with a toothpick inserted vertically (with the toothpick protruding at the top).
  6. For the sauce, whip the cream until thick.
  7. Mix the ketchup, paprika powder, and dried tomato powder into the whipped cream until well combined.
  8. Lightly spread a thin layer of the sauce mixture over the bottom of a gratin dish.
  9. Place the bacon-wrapped fillet pieces in the dish.
  10. Spread the remaining sauce over the top.
  11. Bake for about 20 minutes.
